Ospreys and Red-tailed Hawks: Long Island, NY

Just another day for the Horwath’s. Today the wildlife rehab duo are starting with the Ospreys, a brood of three ready for banding at Eagle’s DockĀ  in Long Island.

The next mission brings us to Queens College in Queens, NY. A male Red-tailed Hawk is down with a bad case of “frounce” bacteria caried by urban pigeons!

Meanwhile at the nest, mother bird is now feeding her offspring alone. Hard work, at this point each young will eat a pigeon every day :
